Product Overview

Trolley-type shot blasting machine (Q76 series) is a special equipment designed for surface cleaning of ultra-large and ultra-heavy castings, forgings, and welded structural parts. The workpiece is placed on the trolley, which enters the closed shot blasting cleaning room through the track. Multiple shot blasters project projectiles at high speed from different angles to conduct all-round impact cleaning on all surfaces of the workpiece. The trolley can rotate to ensure that the workpiece is covered without any blind spots. The equipment has two forms: single cart and double cart. The double cart type can realize parallel operations of loading, unloading and cleaning, shortening auxiliary time. After treatment, the surface cleanliness of the workpiece can reach Sa2.5 level (ISO 8501-1), and the roughness Rz 25–60 μm (depending on the abrasive type and process parameters).

Working Principle and Process Flow

Workpieces are loaded onto trolleys, which travel along tracks into the cleaning chamber. After the chamber door closes, the trolley rotates (adjustable from 0.3 to 3 rpm), and multiple shot blasters launch high-speed shot from the perimeter and top at a 3D simulation angle. The shot is collected via a bottom scraper recovery system, a screw conveyor, and a bucket elevator into an air separator, where it is separated and recycled. Dust and broken shot are filtered by a dust removal system before being discharged in compliance with standards. A dual-trolley configuration allows entry and exit from two workstations; while one trolley is cleaning, the other is loading and unloading outdoors, alternating in a cycle.

Process Flow: Loading onto trolley → Trolley enters chamber → Shot blasting → Trolley exits chamber → Shot blowing → Unloading

Core Configuration And Wear-Resistant Parts Standards

The shot blasting unit is the core component of the equipment. It employs a high-efficiency direct-drive shot blasting system, with an impeller that undergoes 100% dynamic balancing (dynamic balance grade G6.3) to ensure vibration levels ≤4.5 mm/s at high speeds. The blades, shot distribution wheel, directional sleeve, and guard plates are all made of high-chromium wear-resistant cast iron, with a chemical composition conforming to ASTM A532 standards, a hardness ≥58 HRC, and a standard blade life of 2500–3000 hours.

Shot blasting machine: High-efficiency direct-drive type, direct motor connection, no belt drive, reducing maintenance points;

Chamber lining: High-chromium cast iron/65Mn rolled lining, 10–20 mm thick, quick-replaceable;

Trolley: Welded steel structure, surface covered with high-chromium wear-resistant lining, heat-treated bearing wheels, heavy-duty bearings;

Sealing system: Multi-layer rubber/spring steel plate sealing curtain + labyrinth seal to prevent shot escape;

Dust removal system: Standard configuration includes pulse jet cartridge dust collector or pulse jet bag dust collector (optional), dust emissions can be controlled to <5 mg/m³;

Electrical system: PLC control, touch screen operation, supports automatic/manual modes, remote monitoring module optional.

Note:1. The size of the cleaning chamber, the number and power of the shot blasters, and the trolley load can all be customized according to the user's workpiece specifications and production requirements;2. The total installed power does not include the dust removal system. If dust removal is included, it will be calculated separately based on the model of the matching dust collector;3. The cleaning time is a reference value. The actual time depends on the original surface condition of the workpiece, the required cleaning grade, and the type of abrasive;4. The surface cleaning grade is evaluated according to ISO 8501-1 standard. After shot blasting, it can usually reach Sa2.5. If Sa3 is required, the cleaning time or the number of shot blasters needs to be increased.

Frequently Asked Questions

Get a Quote
What is the difference between a trolley-type and a hook-type shot blasting machine?

The trolley-type machine places the workpiece on a trolley into the cleaning chamber, suitable for ultra-large and ultra-heavy workpieces (single piece up to 50 tons), solving the problem of lifting or suspending ultra-large workpieces. The hook-type machine suspends the workpiece for cleaning, suitable for medium to large-sized, complex-shaped workpieces (usually <20 tons). The trolley-type machine has fewer restrictions on workpiece shape, but occupies a larger area.

What is the difference between a single-trolley and a double-trolley machine?

A single-trolley machine has only one trolley, requiring a shutdown for loading and unloading after cleaning, resulting in longer auxiliary time. The double-trolley machine has two workstations; while one trolley is cleaning, the other trolley is used for loading and unloading workpieces outdoors, alternating operations without stopping the machine, reducing auxiliary time by more than 50%, suitable for large-scale continuous production.

What types of workpieces can the equipment process?

It can process ultra-large cast steel parts, cast iron parts, forgings, welded structural parts, etc., including wind turbine tower bases, turbine runner chambers, large gearboxes, axles, bogies, and large steel components. Single-piece weight can reach 50 tons, and dimensions can reach Φ4500 mm × 3200 mm. It has strong adaptability to workpiece shapes, handling both regular and irregular parts.

What surface finish can be achieved after cleaning?

Under standard operating conditions (steel shot Φ1.5–3.0 mm, sufficient shot blasting time), surface cleanliness can reach Sa2.5 (ISO 8501-1); for higher grades (Sa3), this can be achieved by increasing the number of shot blasters, extending the cleaning time, or using finer abrasives. Surface roughness Rz 25–60 μm, depending on the abrasive type, size, and blasting speed.

What are the vulnerable parts of the equipment, and what is the replacement cycle?

Main vulnerable parts include shot blaster blades, shot distribution wheel, directional sleeve, chamber guard plate, trolley wear plate, and sealing curtain. Under standard operating conditions: High-chromium cast iron blade lifespan 2500–3000 hours; guard plate lifespan 3000–8000 hours (depending on abrasive impact angle); sealing curtain lifespan approximately 6–12 months. We provide a standardized spare parts list and global spare parts warehousing and distribution services.

Can the equipment be customized according to our workpiece dimensions?

Yes.
