Product Overview

The shot media separation and recycling system is the machine's digestive system. It screens out impurities, recovers reusable steel shot, and ensures that the blast wheel is supplied with clean media.

In some countries and regions, high air humidity causes steel shot to absorb moisture and rust easily, producing large amounts of scale and broken abrasive. At the same time, high temperatures accelerate the aging of rubber seals, while air leakage from the separator can sharply reduce separation efficiency. The materials and structures of our separation system parts are specifically optimized for high-humidity, high-dust environments.

Inventory and Shipping:

Screw conveyor flights, hanger bearings, rotary screen mesh, separator adjustment plates, and other key parts are routinely kept in stock and can be dispatched within 5-7 days. Structural parts such as shot storage hoppers and shot flow control gates can be customized quickly.

Material Selection and Wear Resistance:

Screw conveyor flights are available in either 16Mn wear-resistant steel or high-chromium cast iron. The screw pitch is optimized to convey abrasive smoothly without blockages. Separator adjustment plates are thickened to 8-12 mm and offer multi-position angle adjustment, ensuring efficient separation of steel shot and sand even in high-humidity environments.

Energy-Saving and Service-Life Tips:

- Before starting work each day, check whether the steel shot in the storage hopper is dry. If clumping or red rust is found, dry or replace the shot first; otherwise, it may block the screw conveyor and accelerate flight wear; - Clean the rotary screen once per shift to prevent dust and broken abrasive from clogging the screen and reducing separation efficiency; - The screw conveyor hanger bearing (suspension bush) is a concealed wear point. Check its clearance every two weeks and replace it immediately if looseness is detected, preventing shaft bending that could damage the entire screw conveyor; - Keep the separator air velocity stable. Large airflow fluctuations can prevent complete removal of fine dust, allowing it to return to the blast wheel and cause secondary wear.

Excessive dust at the separator outlet and serious steel shot loss?

Check whether vibration has shifted the adjustment plate angle; check whether the fan airflow is too high or too low; and inspect the screen for damage that may allow large particles to pass through.

Screw conveyor jams frequently?

Check the moisture content of the steel shot; check for foreign objects such as workpiece fragments or bolts; and check whether the hanger bearing has seized due to insufficient lubrication. 

Unstable or fluctuating shot flow from the control gate?

Check whether the pneumatic actuator pressure is stable (0.4-0.6 MPa recommended); check whether deformed steel shot is jamming the gate plate; and check the storage hopper for bridging caused by damp, clumped shot.

Shot chute pipe worn through and leaking abrasive?

This is normal wear. We recommend using wear-resistant rubber-lined pipe or high-chromium cast iron pipe and rotating the pipe orientation once every quarter to distribute wear evenly.
