Dedicated Surface Cleaning System for Workpieces
The automatic sandblasting room is a fully automatic workpiece surface treatment system integrating blasting cleaning, abrasive recovery, sorting and purification, and dust collection. Workpieces enter the enclosed room through a conveying system. High-pressure abrasive jets remove scale and rust layers and achieve the required surface roughness. Abrasive is automatically screened, purified, and recycled by the floor recovery system. The equipment uses a modular steel-structure design, is supported by ISO 9001 and CE certification, and complies with international environmental and safety standards. It is widely used for pre-treatment before coating of large components in steel structure, shipbuilding, wind power, construction machinery, petrochemical, and related industries. The fully enclosed design and intelligent control system help the production process meet ESG and sustainable manufacturing requirements of multinational enterprises.
Workpieces enter the sandblasting room by trolley, rail, or chain conveyor, and the operator uses the blasting gun for surface cleaning. After oil-water separation, compressed air mixes with abrasive inside the blasting gun and accelerates into a high-speed jet that impacts the workpiece surface. Used abrasive and dust fall into the honeycomb floor, then are conveyed by pneumatic or scraper recovery to the separator. Coarse impurities and broken abrasive are screened out, while qualified abrasive returns to the storage tank for reuse. Dust-laden air is filtered by the dust collection system before compliant discharge. The whole process is controlled by PLC interlock and supports automated blasting, recovery, and dust collection, with process data storage and traceability.
Process flow: workpiece enters room -> blasting cleaning -> abrasive recovery -> screening and purification -> recycling -> workpiece exits room
International compliance and environmental protection: Fully enclosed room body with zero dust escape. Efficient cartridge or bag dust collection keeps emission concentration below 50 mg/m3, and as low as below 30 mg/m3 when required. The system complies with GB 16297 and international atmospheric emission standards, helping customers pass ISO 14001 environmental audits.
High-recovery circular economy: Honeycomb floor or scraper conveyor recovery rate is >=98%, and the reuse rate after two-stage purification is >=90%, significantly reducing abrasive consumption and solid waste treatment cost.
Efficient and stable capacity: Single-gun processing area is 10-30 m2/h, and 2-8 guns can operate simultaneously for high batch-production efficiency. Cleaning grade is stable at Sa2.5, with roughness Ra25-Ra6.3 um, ensuring coating quality consistency for global projects.
Modular and expandable: Room body, dust collection, and recovery systems are modularly assembled for international transportation, on-site installation, and future capacity expansion. Standard configuration reserves robotic-arm interfaces for smooth upgrade from manual operation to full automation.
Intelligent digitalization: PLC + HMI control supports multi-process recipe storage, operating data recording, and fault self-diagnosis. Optional SCADA/IoT remote monitoring meets Industry 4.0 and digital factory requirements.
Safe and reliable: Explosion-proof lighting >=300 Lux, observation windows, positive-pressure ventilation, multiple safety interlocks, and emergency stops comply with international industrial safety specifications.
International standard certification: ISO 9001 quality management system and CE certification. The design complies with ATEX explosion-proof requirements and international environmental and safety specifications, meeting multinational enterprise supply-chain audit and EHS compliance requirements.
Global delivery capability: Modular export packaging, international logistics, and overseas installation and commissioning experience are available, with English/multilingual technical documents, operator training, and localized after-sales support.
Low TCO and fast ROI: High recovery rate and low-energy design reduce operating cost, while the automation upgrade path reduces long-term labor dependence. Typical return on investment is 12-24 months.
Digital readiness: PLC + HMI is standard, with optional SCADA/IoT remote monitoring and data traceability. The system can connect seamlessly to customer MES systems and supports smart manufacturing and continuous process optimization.
Lifecycle service: From site survey, solution design, manufacturing and delivery to spare-parts supply, remote diagnosis, and capacity expansion retrofit, a one-stop global service network is provided.
Deep customization experience: Room size, explosion-proof grade, dust collection configuration, and conveying method can be deeply customized according to customer workpieces, local regulations, and grid standards. Multiple key international projects have been successfully delivered.

Note: 1. Room size, blast gun quantity, and conveying method can be customized according to workpiece specifications and capacity requirements. 2. Standard power supply is 380 V / 50 Hz, and international grids such as 460 V / 60 Hz can be supported. 3. Equipment noise is <=85 dB(A).
The system is suitable for surface pretreatment of large metal components in steel structure, foundry, shipbuilding, railway carriage, offshore engineering, petrochemical, wind power, construction machinery, bridge, container, and related industries. It can process irregular workpieces, welded structural parts, castings and forgings, steel pipes, and ship materials for rust removal, scale removal, surface roughening before coating, as well as cleaning of molds, boilers, and the inner and outer walls of oil tanks. It is especially suitable for large workpieces beyond the handling range of conventional shot blasting machines.
The automatic sandblasting room integrates automatic abrasive recovery, screening and purification, and dust collection interlock. Workers only hold the blasting gun and do not need to manually collect abrasive. Efficiency increases by more than 3 times, labor intensity and dust exposure are greatly reduced, and the system is suitable for batch production and high occupational health requirements.
Steel grit or steel shot is suitable for strong cleaning of metal surfaces. Brown fused alumina or quartz sand is suitable for heavy rust removal. Glass beads are suitable for precision surfaces. White fused alumina is suitable for softer materials such as stainless steel and aluminum alloy. Selection should consider material hardness, surface requirements, and cost.
Reserve 0.5-1 m operating space in each direction based on the maximum workpiece dimensions. For example, for an 8 m long workpiece, the recommended room length is >=10 m.
Recovery rate is >=98%, and the reuse rate after two-stage purification is >=90%. Only periodic replenishment of new abrasive is required to maintain system balance.
Emissions are stably below 50 mg/m3 and can be reduced to below 30 mg/m3, complying with China's GB 16297 and international atmospheric pollutant emission standards.
Taking PSF-6 as an example, equipment footprint is about 40-50 m2, and the recommended total footprint including supporting systems is >=100 m2. For PSF-12, >=200 m2 is recommended, and plant height should be >=6 m.
